Jim ....

here is another video pertaining to the X-T1.

As hard as I try I am unable to replicate the horizontal side to side split image seen on the full area of the X-T1's screen.

In fact I am unable to get into split screen mode by an extended period of pressing the 'Focus Assist' button.

Hi John,

First, thank you for the link. I am considering purchasing an X-T2, and
this contained a lot of interesting information.

Secondly, my takeaway from this is that the term, "split image", can
have multiple meanings. As shown in the video, I don't find it to be
"rangefinder-like" at all. It shows the full image on the left, and a
magnified center portion on the right. The camera has several ways of
enhancing the contrast of the magnified image, making focusing easier.
But, if one is expecting a split image such as that provided by a Leica
rangefinder camera, I did not find it.

This is referred to here:

about half way down the article in the paragraph headed "Manual
Focusing".

If anyone is familiar with this focusing method on the X-T1 could they
please advise me how I bring the split image focusing method into play.

If it is at all relevant I have a Konica M-Hexanon 50mm f2 lens.

Thanks
