Thanks, Scott. I'll have to do some more investigation. I have a Brother printer but no Android phone anymore since I switched to an iPhone last December.

Also, just read yesterday that someone successfully tested USB3 connected

Chromeboxes are unfortunately under-reported, but nice little devices.
Printing is via Google cloud print at the moment, but that's changing
quickly. Google are rolling out support for running Android apps on Chrome
OS. I expect I'll be able to direct print using my Brother printer's
Android app, soon.

OK, running mice and Ethernet dongles is news to me. Even greater news is
that I've never heard of a "Chromebox". Sounds like a Mac mini. I do have
a KVM switch that I could use for switching between systems. Works well but
causes a lot of cable congestion.

Chromebooks can run mice. Also serial and Ethernet USB dongles. There are

Chromeboxes, just FYI, are about 6 inches on a side and only about 1.5"
thick. You won't lose much desk real estate to them. They require separate
keyboard, mouse (USB, usually) and screen. You pick the screen size. My
cousin runs hers using a 24" screen.
