Actually, 1.6x is de cropfactor for Canon APS-C and 1.5x is de cropfactor
for all other APS-C sensors (that I'm aware of ;-).

Canon uses a slightly smaller sensor.

However, with a 'speed booster' type adapter (available for Fuji camera's
allowing either Canon EF or Nikon F mount (a.o.) lenses to adapt) you can
restore (close to) the original FOV. Because such adapters reduce the focal
length by ~0.7x. As a bonus, you gain an F stop of light (the image circle
is compressed so the light per square inch/mm is magnified (by 1.4x)).

Never used one though, because I don't have APS-C camera's, just FF and
M43. What I understand is that the center is slightly sharper, but the
borders of the picture slightly weaker.

A Hasselblad to FF focal reducer has just been introducted btw, interesting.
