The pond is fully electrified. Note the little shed on the far side of the pond <http://zone-10.com/tope2/main.php?g2_itemId=20732> That's a power and pumping station. The fountain is for both decoration and aeration and gets it's power via underground cable from the power shed. The pond is also serviced by a well pump in the shed which keeps the pond at a certain level when the weather is very dry.

It was peaceful when I took the photos but not long before the wind was blowing constantly at about 45 mph with higher gusts and the rain was coming down in torrents with lighting and thunder at times.

It all looks beautiful and peaceful in those shots Chuck, maybe a bit damp

What runs the fountain in the pond ? Is it purely decorative or is it to
aerate the water so that it doesn't stagnate ?

Keep your feet dry,

The overflowing pond at Chuck's house (at right). View large and note the
trees and the stones at the end of the pond. There is a stream on the other
side of the trees that flows to Collins Creek thence to the Waccamaw River
and then down to the ocean.
<http://zone-10.com/tope2/main.php?g2_itemId=20722>

But the stream is not supposed to flow through the trees and onto my yard as
here: <http://zone-10.com/tope2/main.php?g2_itemId=20726?

or here: <http://zone-10.com/tope2/main.php?g2_itemId=20728>

or here: <http://zone-10.com/tope2/main.php?g2_itemId=20730>

But the end of the pond is designed with an overflow channel lined with
rip-rap rocks. When it gets 3-4 feet over its normal level it flows over
the rocks to the stream as shown here:
<http://zone-10.com/tope2/main.php?g2_itemId=20732>

and closer here: <http://zone-10.com/tope2/main.php?g2_itemId=20734>

The rain started again but stopped and now it's only foggy. I think the
storm is moving northeast fast enough that the additional rain clouds
rotating around again will miss us.

I wish I could send some of this (10.4") of rain to Tina. But I know the
tree frogs would object. When it rains really hard here the tree frogs can
keep us serenaded all night as they sing their love songs to their mates.
One thing's for sure. If nothing else there will soon be lots of baby tree
frogs around. They'll grow up and continue the serenade.
