So, I now have my vacation time approved, so, it's time to plan a Zuikofest.
Date: August 21, 2017
Place: Grand Tetons, Wyoming, or Borah Peak, Idaho
Wyoming is likely going to be THE spot to be. It will be total
pandemonium with photographers jockying for the "perfect" spot, but
I've got some ideas that would get us out of the valley.
The nice thing about this location is that if we end up with a storm
system moving through with cloud cover, I can alter the location along
the path of totality and a few hundred miles should escape it and give
an area of planned clear sky.
The second location on my short list is Borah Peak in Idaho. What has
my interest on that location is that Idaho is the only lower-48 state
that I haven't been to.
Either way, I am likely to set up a remote camera or two hidden in
some tumbleweeds many miles away.
