Sorry to hear Tom is doing poorly. I had hoped Santa would have perked him
up.

Hospital bills are indeed shocking. We will be paying off (our share after
medicare) the bill from Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore for the three
carotid
artery stents for the next several years.

We did not purchase the supplementary coverage because of the cost at my
age.
 Besides, who would need it? (Right!)
Turns out, the monthly payment plan is far less than the monthly insurance
bill would
have been, and out-of-pocket expenses are our primary concern right now.

Anyway, I hope Tom is correct and a simple prescription change will smooth
things out.
Best wishes for the coming year. Tell Tom we're all rooting for him.
