I feel it is time to let the ants rest, Mike. But their days are numbered. The professional exterminators identify these as fire ants. Unfortunately, we are in a 3-state area that has not only red imported fire ants, but black ones as well. They will be dealt with as soon as the weather dries up a little.

Dean suggested I leave them alone, but I want them gone.

Endless source of fascination.  Dean ought to like this thread too.

There are the occasional fatality in US from ants-- almost always from fire ant 
from many many bites, often by falling asleep near a mound of them --then 
anaphylaxis.     Doubt those are fire ants given the color. There are many fold 
more fatalities in US  by falling vending machines.

Commute the sentence to time served as macro subjects, Mike
