Sorry if this  post is repetitive as this is a near spinal reflex: When Moose 
brings up the Big Ol' Nikkor, must mention the petite Cosina  Voigtlander Apo 
Lanthar 180/4 in OM mount which is a small gem.

Given the choice, I'd prefer the C-V. But - I don't need another MF lens - and - it wouldn't do for the purpose of my post, to propose that older lenses aren't necessarily IQ handicapped.

BTW, I sold off all the other Nikon F gear. Only the "Q" remains, as memento of my dad's gear that got me started on photography, and because it's such a beautiful thingie, along with the beautiful brown leather case.
