     The Sante Fe railroad used such systems, designed and built by Carrier, to 
cool its passenger cars from the 1930s to 1950s.  It used the same steam line 
that heated the cars in the winter.

     The heat exchanger (boiler) in the steam jet systems is one of the cost 
drivers.  I reduced the cost by replacing the solar collector elements with 
in-line heat exchangers.  Haven't built one of these yet as I cannot find a 
mechanical engineer who has any interest.
