Early yesterday morning I was casually listening to the TV news and
overheard that there was a serious traffic accident nearby. The newscasters
pinpointed the accident at three different spots in ten seconds. Their
helicopter was hovering overhead and I recognised a couple of the buildings, so
I grabbed a camera and a bike and cycled over to take a close look.
When I got there it didn't take long to determine what had happened. I

had rear ended a second car at a high rate of speed, causing the second car to
spin, slide, then turn over once or twice:

The injured occupants had been taken to hospital by the time I got there. All
southbound lanes were blocked for about three hours during rush hour, and
traffic was diverted into the adjacent residential area.
