     Depends.  If you go south of the Calahan Divide, then you're in the Hill 
Country, which is really pleasant, all the way to Austin and San Antonio.  
North of the divide is the Llano Estacado, which is flat as a pool table.  But 
then there's Palo Duro Canyon.

     Midland and Odessa could be considered desert, all the way to El Paso.
