Crazy thought, but you don't have the mirror lock-up switch turned on, do
you? Not that it should matter.

Does the camera fire? Have you tried attaching and detaching an OM lens a
couple of times?

If I recall, this happened to me when I had the battery croak on me in the
midst of a triggering of the shutter release and the battery failed between
the point where the mirror went up and the shutter curtain fired.

Can you fire the shutter at all or is it in complete lockup?
