I've probably told this story before, but years ago I worked tech
support for a software company that provided scheduling and billing
systems to radio stations. One day, I got a call about the computer
randomly printing stuff out or gibberish showing up on the screen.

It was a classic case of RF interference. We saw it all the time with
the computers of that era around high RF environments like radio
stations. You could wave a hand over the keyboard and weird things
would happen.

Day after day, she would call, and every day I would say that it was
RF. The station engineer checked grounding, shielding, everything. He
even admitted that they didn't actually transmit from that location,
but from a tower about five miles away. Hmmmm. (He didn't mention the
high power TV station 100 yards away, though).

Anyway, after a couple weeks of this, she called me and said "You were
right. It was RF... RF the station cat!"

They had this cat named RF at the radio station that would sleep on
top of the computer monitor. It would wake up, step down off the
monitor onto the keyboard and was out of the room before anybody knew
what happened.

Sometimes, you can be 100% right and 100% wrong at the same time.
