[OM] Six Months

It's been six months living in Alaska. Time is screaming by. And every
day I still get amazed with the scenery. We've barely even explored
outside of our little valley.

I'm not at my home computer where I can pull up Lightroom to see what
my numbers are, but since leaving Iowa, I'm somewhere over 20 thousand
photos taken. The current casualty list includes:

1. 35-80/2.8 zoom - Aperture Ring became loose/disengaged.

2. Canon 6D - Severe sensor garbage collection.

3. Tokina 100-300/4 ATX - One element is hazing up and is no longer
pure of thought or image. It looks like a glue separation issue.

4. Missing tripod, softbox and a few other doodads that are buried in
some random box from the move.

For the Canon 6D, the most used lenses has been the OM Zuiko 28/2 and
300/4.5 lens. The 24/2.8, 50/1.4 and 200/4 have been getting use, but
not like the main two. It's just the nature of this specific valley
where the cool shots are all super-tele or wide. For the 4/3 bodies,
all three have been getting significant use, with the DMC-L1 taking
the lead, the E-3 following and the E-1 getting love in unusual
lighting conditions.

The film cameras have reemerged from dormancy. The OM-3Ti and OM-4T
are getting some use. Not much, but some. The problem is my processing
stuff is still buried and hasn't been fully unpacked yet. The ancient
Kodak folder camera is getting carried along on long hikes. It's small
enough to slip into the side pocket of my tiny bag.

The days are getting longer and we're emerging from our caves to do
winter sports activities. It's a bit strange to see everybody get
excited about snow in the forecast. We have freezing fog at the house
right now, so it's going to be a stunner of a scene once the sunlight
hits. Schooling is brutal right now, but I really need to brave the
elements and go hiking down by the river this weekend.
