Six inches of snow last night but warm today. Not much time, but meandered on
the trails behind Crane beach. Snowy Owls can hang out there and
especially like the dunes that have a view of the beach and back fields--they
like sea ducks as well as the field critters like mice and voles for lunch--aka
serf and turf.
The owls look like a clump of snow but happened upon one though over 100yds
away and no way to get closer on the trails. Not good to go off as it damages
the beach grass--?ammophila, causing erosion.
Despite 800mm FF equivalent still had to significantly crop. Easier pickings
at Plum Island, but no time today.
