And as shot in LR, with some exceptions as already stated, BW being the most
frequent situation when fiddling the WB may help.

But I bet it is all camera dependent.

And user preference dependent, as well.

My experience with Oly, Panny, Canon and Sony has been that Auto does a good job in the middle of the day outside and a decent job indoors, but is iffy in early/late/golden light and some overcast conditions. AUTO WB on most of the cameras I've used, particularly Canon, tend to be much cooler than Daylight, but still warmer than Incandescent WB settings. I believe this is because the makers have found that people prefer a little unrealistic warmth in them. Who wants a photo of that candlelit dinner with accurate color?

Oly is explicit about it, with an "WB Auto - Keep Warm Color" setting, where "On" is the default and "Select [Off] to eliminate “warm” colors from pictures taken under incandescent lighting." [Part of the amazing level of customization that I like and that makes some people dislike Oly Menus.]

Remember we started from a shot by Jim, who uses the same cameras as mine. His
fiddling with WB hasn’t proved successful so far, hence my tip Jim, stick to
auto-everything with the fujis, they know better than we both do ;-)

Except - EXIF says Jim DID use Auto WB in the camera. Which suggests that he didn't agree with that camera's idea of color balance; hence the fiddling. XMP:crs says he adjusted temp -12 and tint -6 in Raw conversion.

Of course, changes in the LR Profiles may have caused some confusion. The
various profiles may change color quite a lot.

Real fun is when one side is mostly natural light and the other mostly tungsten. I've been known to do two different Raw conversions, stack them as layers and use graduated mask(s), with perhaps a little hand painting of mask(s) to give a more unified color balance.
