Tina,
The point of landfall has not changed much this morning. Florence will
make landfall as a weak category 4 or strong category 3 around midnight
Thur/Fri. According to the morning national news, you will be on the edge of
the heavy rainfall. Central north Carolina and south-central Virginia will
receive more than 20 inches of rainfall. But...
After landfall, things get a little confusing. A cold front associated
with the jet stream will stop the westward motion of Florence. At the same
time, TS Isaac will be approaching from the south. GFS shows that Florence
will remain somewhat stationary for a few days, then drift slowly southwest
into Georgia. None of that is certain, but that's what GFS is showing with the
latest forecast.
