You gonna hold the slide with one hand while shooting with the other?
I guess you could sit the slide on a light-table, then use a tripod for the
macro lens.
Don't underestimate the value of a slide holder with accurate and repeatable
positioning. If you have more than just a few slides, I wouldn't want to deal
with a light-table/tripod solution.
