Does anyone actually read this stuff? Lots of Adobe bashing based on what
appear to me to be inaccurate grounds:
"Please be aware that should you continue to use the discontinued
version(s), you may be at risk of potential claims of infringement by
third parties."
Adobe isn't threatening to sue you, it is warning you that others may do so.
(Actual chances of that infinitesimal.)
This suggests two possibilities:
1. These earlier versions may have used IP licensed from others, the license(s) have expired and Adobe has either chosen
not to renew them or been unable to do so.
2. Adobe has chosen to license IP from it's older versions to third party(s).
In either case, it's covering its ass with these notices, so it may say to the third party(s) that it's done what it can
to honor whatever agreement(s) it has.
