     I avoid Amazon at all cost, unless there's no alternative.  I look for 
books by way of Bookfinder.com, which looks at all book sellers.

     Many years ago, Amazon acquired Small Parts, Inc., which is a wonderful 
resource for inventors and model makers.  Amazon quickly made a complete mess 
out of it, but when I looked recently they seem to have recovered, and I didn't 
see any mention of Amazon.
