Jim posted a shot of a somewhat battered mayfly adult.  Mayflies are the
only insects that shed its skin once again after becoming a winged adult,
going from what the fly fishermen call a "dun" to a "spinner."  Jim's shot
is of a spinner--note the very clear wings.  It's a bit harder to tell, but
it's a female.  Put "Hexagenia" into Google Images for plenty of shots.
Duns are easily told from spinners by the dull, not clear, wings.
