The problem is that it's a crop sensor camera, and much of the "character" of
FF MF lenses is lost, as well as half the
FoV.
With a Metabones (or similar high-quality focal reducer), you get about 70% of
that back, though.

I understand your love affair with OM lenses, focal reducers and E-M1 II. And yes, you can get much of the AoV back, as well as more speed.

But, for those old lenses with "character", i.e. their own unique set of optical failings, that are much beloved by some odd duck photographers, passing the images through such legerdemain obviates the purpose for having and using them by overlaying the optical limitations of the focal reducer.

I am also far, far more often looking for more DoF, not less, so the speed
increase isn't important to me.

On µ4/3, I'm interested in only, native full AF lenses. For my stable of old MF oddities and malcontents, I prefer using them directly on a FF sensor.

I've become a minor fan of the Viltrox Mount Adapter EF-M2, with a thin EF-OM
ring. I recently found a place selling them for $19.95, brand new in box! I
ordered three of them. We'll see if I've been had or not.

Nice! I hope it works.
