I don't see your pessimism. When I got my first digital camera, a Sony R1, I 
never thought I would be able to beat the higher ISO demon. Then Nikon came out 
with the D3. And now, the D3's sensor is considered outdated and unusable by a 
lot of internet "experts" although I don't agree. I was skeptical that as MP's 
were increased to crazy levels (as far as I'm concerned, the 60+ mp cameras 
have only two uses: for camera testers, and to make guys d**ks look bigger. But 
I 'm now thinking that as things continue to evolve, many of the advances we 
see in 1" and smaller sensors, this can eventually move to m4/3. The two 
frontiers are higher MP counts, for cameras testers, and low light sensitivity, 
for everyone. 


But I'm generally an optimist, except about America's politics and our diets.

Me too! The E-M1.2 was the first camera since the OM-4 that made me giggle when 
I first used it. I wouldn’t be bothered if it were the last camera I ever 
owned.
