I find this a bit strange. I can't imagine a single engine failure would down 
the AC, unless it was accompanied by a fire. Look at all the times those planes 
returned home on two engines. I got a flight in a B17 once, to an airshow. On 
departure from the show, a freshly overhauled prop blew a seal, and we had to 
turn around and return to the airport, Harlingen tx. The pilot said if it was 
just the crew aboard, he would have flown back to Ft. Worth on three, but since 
there were passengers, he chose to return to the field. So we returned there on 
a dash 80, pretty boring after the 4 hours on the B17.
