WHAT A ROYAL PAIN!

That's a big strike against Sony in my view. What's next, having a confirmation
dialogue whenever it notices you're not using a genuine Sony lens? It's bad
enough that Pannys (from what I know, someone will correct me if wrong) require
you to tell it that "no lens is attached" in order to shoot a legacy,
non-electronic lens.

On my E-M1.2, I occasionally have a message flash on the screen: "Genuine
Olympus batteries recommended." But it goes away in a few seconds without me
having to take any specific action, other than to ignore it. Likewise, it
happily shoots with my roughly three dozen legacy lenses without making me do
anything special, although I do program in the EXIF description, focal length,
and max aperture. (It will still work if I have that turned off.)
