AG, I gotta ask, what forces an otherwise sane person to move there?

That it is... That it is...

For perspective, our cold snap is such that I threw my Arctic Gear bag
in the back of the car. While probably not absolutely necessary here
(mostly city driving), if I'm stranded, stuck or who know what, having
my -140 boots will be nice. And if I do go out of town, having the
survival gear is more of a requirement than an option.

EVERYTHING is covered by a heavy frost today. Ice fog everywhere
around Anchorage. It's stunningly beautiful. The sun is still a bit
low on the horizon (all daylight is "golden hour"), but I think our
first day of direct sunshine at the house will be the 16th. Yay! We're
in a mountain valley so the sun is below the ridge for about a month
and a half.

Here is the funny thing. It rarely gets this cold here in Anchorage.
Not as much about global warming, as it is a function of geography.
The ocean currents keep this part of the state pretty temperate and
we're not in the flow of storm fronts, etc. Getting cold like this
just means that you spend more time indoors. Not unlike summertime in
the south when temperatures are up around 100. Nobody voluntarily
spends more time outdoors than they have to.

Any every car sold up here has remote start capability.
