I have a matte cutter I had not used in ages, but got it out last year. The
only space available was outside on the patio table, which works if it is not
windy.

I went to the trouble of getting hinge tape, cutting the matte and backing foam
board, only to find most of my inexpensive frames do not have enough space to
handle all that thickness. I even tried thinner backing foam board.

Custom frames are expensive. The only solution I know is to just mount to the
exiting backing board, which I doubt is of archival quality.

Anyone have any advice on mounting photos?

This has prompted me to consider getting a table saw just to make my own
frames. I already have all the other tools, like a jointer... and some maple I
moved from Massachusetts.
