WOW!
The world was certainly a different place on World Health Day last year!

We were staying in a farmhouse in the village of Gasa on 4/7 last year. After breakfast with the handsome young man in
the first photo, we visited Bhutan's World Health Day celebration.
To emphasize their commitment to bring their universal health care to even the most remote parts a the country, it was
held in Gasa.
The women with the wonderful, pointy hats are from the even more remote, tiny village of Laya. They are nomadic yak
herders and walked down the mountains to Gasa, as there is as yet no road to Laya.
The one in the third photo walked up to us and asked, in good English, where we were from. We and the rep from WHO were
certainly the only non-Bhutanese there.
