When I was in high school, by best friend could only get around on crutches or
a wheelchair, due to spina bifida as an infant.
He had a job, and a Ford Pinto (with hand controls) that he was very proud of,
and he loved buying stuff for the car. He got some “mooner” hubcaps, brightly
polished hemispherical chrome domes.
He came over to show me his new prize, and the geese, as they generally did,
ran out to challenge the car. They usually honked a while, then got bored and
But this time, they saw their reflection in the hub caps, and started attacking
the hubcaps! Craig crawled out of the car, and was crawling around the car with
a crutch, beating and screaming at the geese!
Meanwhile, I was literally rolling on the ground laughing.
