Wasn't so much thinking of that as of vibrations affecting the scanning head as it traverses. But I suppose even in normal operation the stepper will be introducing a tiny bit of vibration into the whole mechanism.

Table saw, chopsaw, and scrap lumber will have a role to play here :-) .

I'm in the process of rearranging my home "office" to accommodate videoconferences better. One issue is where to put the flatbed scanner (Epson V700), as there isn't / won't be enough space on the desk itself.

How much do I have to worry about vibration, IOW how rigid need the stand be? Or should I only worry about making it relatively level?

I'd imagine it would take pretty big vibrations to make the film move relative to the platen.

Good Vibrations Moose
