I cannot confirm or deny.

The volcanic islands of the Aleutian Chain are quite interesting. The
Aleutians are largely devoid of people, with most concentrated into a
handful of communities. However, it's not for lack of trying. There
are only a few that have usable harbors. There are a couple of islands
that could be usable if it wasn't for the active volcanoes.

Flying out to Dutch Harbor is on my bucket list, along with Nome and Sitka.
