<<<So Mike, got a couple of ideal specs for getting the effect, subject, FL,
focal distance, background distance, aperture, and ???

Hmmm, this is all very loosey goosey and makes the coc calculation for dof seem
like quantum chromodynamics. I can't quickly put my fingers on the images I
want, but the early
FM ones with the c/y 35-70 usually work though many are not longer active
links. . Curiously that lens can keep up with GM 24-70 when stopped down and
can out-resolve my Sonnie sensor.

The phenomenon I was referring to is easiest to achieve with wider angles at
mid-distances and mid apertures. I would guess subject distance at 6-12' for
35mm.. Good central microcontrast seems important and a tad of vignetting and
field curvature helps. There is a thought that aspheric elements neuter the
effect by flattening the focal plane. The ability to quickly determine that
the c/y 35-70 was used on the cam LCD is largely do the high microcontrast.
The post processing required is wildly different.

Now that all is perfectly clear, Mike
