You and me both. I take perverse joy in making the old stuff sing.
While there is a point where MOST old stuff is just old stuff, there
are also plenty of gems that somehow get shuffled to the back for
reasons that end up being fleeting.

With my Four-Thirds kit, I made two mistakes. I sold the 14-54 after I
got the Leica 14-50, and then I sold the E-1. Both mistakes have since
been addressed, but I'll never do that again. Another ALMOST mistake
was when I went to sell my OM Zuiko 100/2.8. Fortunately, the buyer
saw the brassing and said "nope". That would have been a catastrophe
had I gotten rid of that lens.

But my latest acquisitions, the E-3 (a second one in improved
condition), 12-60 SWD, and 50-200 SWD, have immediately earned their
keep. Brutally big and heavy for hiking, but the image-quality punches
way above their weight.

Another thing about the image-quality. I've got the Sony A7 Mk2, which
is a 24MP Full-frame beast, but for the majority of my photography,
there really isn't much to lose when shooting the E-3. The IQ is a
little better, but the sensor differences really don't come into play
until I'm shooting low-light or extreme contrast. However, I will say
that the two E-3s do shoot differently, with my latest acquisition
being a significant improvement over the older one that was probably
in the first manufacturing run. For web-display, the differences are a
moot point, and even the E-1 will meet the display quality of the A7
Mk2.
