Mirror lenses CAN be very good, if the mirror-coatings are of high quality.
An outstanding lens is the Zeiss 500/4.5 mirror lens for Contax which also
has a matching 2X converter. Contrast is superb as is the price, five years
ago I think it was around 14000 $US. :-(
I did suspect that if there ever was a good mirror 500/8 lens it would be a
Zuiko!
