A bird photographer I once met had one of these and let me handle
the thing. It was an interesting item, possibly the most mobile
solution to taking a long lens into the field. He actually managed
to get paid for some of the images he shot with the thing, so I
guess the image quality wasn't too bad.
Having said that, a brand N or C 400 f/2.8 on a big Gitzo with a
Wimberly mount is so impressive, the critters practically line up
in front of the rig to get their pictures taken...
