        The info I have (from "The Register of 35MM Cameras") is that the FTL 
was
introduced in 1971 using a 42MM Practica/Pentax (universal thread) mount. It's
exposure control was match-needle only.  Available were 28MM to 200MM lenses
which were made by Olympus. It used the 1.35v mercury battery and listed for a
low price of $250. By all accounts it offered very conventional features and
was a marketing failure. The more compact more featured OM-1 was introduced
just a year later, and the OM-1 really took off, even though it listed for
$350, and as they say- the rest is history. I have no knowledge of how they
performed or held up to heavy use, perhaps others experienced with the camera
will be able to say, especially John H.
