[OM] Digital Back: How Feasible Will This Be?

Subject: [OM] Digital Back: How Feasible Will This Be?

I have looked at Olympus' digital camera for the first time on Saturday.
It was their D500 because the D600 was sold out.

The salesman showed me printed samples of the four Olympus models. The top
model definitely has the best quality. I was impressed with a nice
viewfinder although it required a bit of getting used to because of its
leftmost location. The camera was only loaded with batteries but not with
a memory card, but I found it nice and compact.

I could not help thinking how it might be possible to construct an OM-5
with a digital back. According to the reviews in "Shutterbug" I read,
Olympus is not equipping the D500/600 models with AF-overriding
capabilities, but both reviewers seem to have been impressed with the
models. Is there a way to make a manual focus OM-5 with interchangeable
backs of digital and film backs?

As I continue to tabulate the votes the list and I received, I would like
to see some discussions of the digital back possibility.
