With the 200 you do have less DOF and if you manage to have the same DOF
than 90's then you shall have the same blurring effect. I don't know easy
ways to have good DOF *and* smooth backgrounds at the same time. The only
solution coming to my mind is "Defocus" lens by Nikon.

They say zooms as a rule have smoother backgrounds than primes, for
equivalent lenght and f/ settings. I don't know if it is a legend... these
are "bokeh" topics...

You start focus from 1m lenght (focal plane-object) but you don't reach 1/1
ratio (a bit less, say 80%?). It is good for you?

BTW, this combo looks impressive... it only *looks*. If your 90 macro is
IF, it shall be very easier to use... and quality is surely better: 200/4
is *not* a macro lens.

BTW again, if Paul is right, and zoom tube is underpriced by now, that
would be a perfect reason to buy it at once. It was intended mainly to
couple the 80mm lens.
