Subject: A Sigma 400mm / 5.6 telephoto for Olympus mount

I purchased a used Sigma 400mm tele lens this Friday from a local pawn shop in
Florence, SC. It looked like it had a Minolta 3-point bayonet mount that would
fit my Minolta manual XG-7 camera. Unfortunately, the mount is for an Olympus
camera. The lens is an older lens, but is in absolutely gorgeous, near-new
condition. In fact, it doesn't have any scratches on the mount where it
connects to the tri-pod -- nor really very much even at the mount itself.

Please accept my apologies for not sending a picture. The lens is:

- SIGMA SUPER-TELE MULTI-COATED
- 1:5.6 F=400MM
- Smooth black finish
- Has a mounting ring to attached to a tripod.
- Model # or serial number printed on the lens: (sigma symbol)-223579, Made
in Japan
- Small gold PASSED sticker marked: JCII 81, PASSED, JMDC
- aperatures range: 5.6 - 22
- built in long sliding anti-glare hood
- rubber focusing ring is close to the camera, is textured with a cross-cut
pattern in the rubber grip piece, and has a row of 4 Focus, Focus, focus,
focus -- then 4 sigma symbols 90 degrees away, then the word SIGMA 4 times 90
degrees away, and then 4 more sigma symbols 90 degrees away.
-the lens mount has the 3-sided Minolta looking bayonet -- but also has 2
squeeze-in, or push-in silver buttons. One of them looks like a depth of view
preview button? The other is a springloaded push-in button that seems to maybe
unlock the lens from the camera? I'm not sure...

I was heart-broken when this didn't fit on my older manual Minolta. It is
soooo pretty. I was looking forward to having this beautiful lens available to
me..... Aggghhhhh...... :)

Please advise whether this lens would be of interest to you or any of your
Olympus user friends. I would welcome offers for a straight sale -- or
possibly a swap of a Minolta telephoto. My Minoltas are a manual XG-7 and a AF
Minolta Maxxum 800si.

I hope to hear from you.

Thanks,
Dave Kuntarich
