  My advice at that moment is to say: "no, actually there have been nine,
the others are in a box somewhere in a closet, awaiting repair". That way,
you create mental "space" for the next few acquisitions, though I think
men are much easier in this respect. Best thing is to just get a dedicated
area (a whole room is a good start) that is "your" space. :-)
  Also, maybe a few spare camera bags ("the last one was too big/small/
deep/wide/tall") in which you can hide equipment. This is one of the main
uses of my Titanic camera bags (the ones so big that when full I can't
lift). A cash slush fund helps, too. Just a few tips.
