Theres a good chance I'll have a modest ($1000-1500) windfall next
week...

Congratulations!

I'm looking at three possible purchases:

1) Tokina or Tamron 300/2.8...

2) Zuiko 35-80/2.8 - would fill the gap I currently have between 38
and 100...

If the amount you have to spend is on the high end, you can find a used 300/2.8 and still have enough left over for an 85/2 and 50/1.4, and thus "fill the gap" with more speed and less weight than you would with the zoom.

I hear it's a lovely zoom, but personally, I prefer a lightweight, fast primes.

3) New Om-4T...

The ONLY pro I see to buying any NEW Olympus gear is to show support for the system, but I wouldn't hold out hope of it having much effect, or even being appreciated.
