[OM] To sell or not to sell?

"I'm in an ethical quandary here -- if I can get hold of another f2.8 quickly,
I don't need to hang on to the f2 and therefore an initiated transaction can
run to its fruition. But I'm expecting the MO later this week and I need that
focal length to do my job. I've smashed superwides in almost the exact same
fashion before (thank God it wasn't the f2!!!), but it means I get more dynamic
shots when I take risks, so it's kind of addictive."

You should keep your commitments, especially in business matters. But in this
case you have a good reason to cancel the deal -- you no longer have a
duplicate lens. I'd return the MO to the buyer, along with a photo of the
smashed lens and your smashed face. Any reasonable (?) person would understand.
