Hi All,
I've just joined this list and I've got a few questions. About two years
ago I got an Olympus OM-10 camera, sans manual from a local camera shop. My
first camera was an Olympus "Trip 35". My OM-10 is now exhibiting a few
peculiarities - mostly centred around the flash. There's a small flash
symbol in the viewfinder that I assume has an LED next to it. Is this
supposed to light up when the flash is on the hotshoe on the top of the
camera? If it helps, I'm using a Cobra "Auto 210" flash (the one with the
ribbed nut on the hotshoe connector). I've been looking through the list
archives as well, and someone mentioned the extra contact on the camera's
hotshoe connector. According to the message I found, said pin causes the
camera to use the flash. How much voltage is present on this pin if an
Olympus flash (with the extra pin) when the flash is:
    a) ready
    b) charging.

I haven't seen any Olympus flashes in my area at a cost of less than
UK£229.99. Is there any way to modify my flash to make the camera recognise
it? It's a PIB having to put the camera into Manual and then selecting 1/60s
on the manual adapter. Suggestions please?

BTW, I'm currently waiting for a new manual from Olympus UK - £5 on its way
to them, new manual (hopefully) on its way to me... How long do Olympus
usually take to despatch manuals?

Thanks in advance,

--
Phil.
