Don't see why not. It's not the changing of the LED itself that "solves" the
"problem" -- it's a re-routing of where the LED's getting power from in the
first place.
So, I suppose you could get any colour you want, as long as the form factor of
the component would still fit. Blue "flash ready" LED, anyone?
