Pelican cases. They are pricey but worth it in my opinion. Very tough, air/watertight, can be stacked, tailored for certain items/groups of items, and readily tossed into the car for transport, will normally float, pretty much airline proof if applicable, and with a suitable silica gel canister inside protect the contents from humidity.

No connection other than my favorite/cheapest source (USA)....
