[OM] Question regarding 35-70 Zuiko Lens

Subject: [OM] Question regarding 35-70 Zuiko Lens

Remember that closest focus for the 35-70mm f4 lens is 75cm; by comparison,
a 35mm f2.8 Zuiko is 30cm,, and a 50/1.8 is 45cm. Words written on a CD
could be a problem at 75cm...

I just received a 35-70 F1.4 Oly-Zuiko lens that I purchased via Ebay. The
price was great and the seller is located nearby. The lens looks to be in
great condition as described by seller. I just for the hell of it...mounted
the lens on an OM-1N and OM-2S and found that when I move very close to a
subject and try to focus....for example, the words written on a CD...I
cannot focus. Of course pointing the lens elsewhere from a greater distance
and I can focus on anything. Is this is a problem with the lens, my eyes,
or
something with the the focusing screen? This sounds like a newbie
question..but I am just getting my feet wet! BTW - I picked up a 2nd 35 -
70
from a more reputable seller just in case. I just want to get the most bang
for my buck and do it right and get quality items. If you want to be a
Zuikoholic...you gots to do it right!!!

Thanks.
