Yup, I'm back. Four days of the vacation were washed out with
rain--two of which were continous rainshowers with no letup.
It's bad when you get stuck in your campsite with a 4wd Jeep!
Haven't tallied everything up yet, but it looks like I shot
around 1000 pictures during the week. Most of it digital. I
did shoot a bit of 4x5 and a bunch of 35mm in the OMs.
I'll be getting some stuff put up on the website shortly, but
have barely unpacked at this point.
Finding the balance between shooting film and digital was a
struggle. Laziness prevailed most of the time and I shot
digital. However, when it came time for a serious picture, I
used the digital as a "proofing tool" and then shot with film.
Unfortunately, with the weather not cooperating, I didn't get to
shoot as much as I'd like to have.
I did bag a new waterfall this trip. Had to tresspass on
private property, slide down a 200' hill (the climb up was a
challenge) and then hang by one hand (while clutching the camera
with the other) over a fast-moving class 2-3 rapids. All the
while hoping that Bubba (son of "X") wouldn't happen along.
Next trip up there will be in the wintertime.
