Graham,

As usual I enjoyed your pictures and narrative.  Especially liked the gent
on the penny farthing (bone shaker) bicycle.  He may be out of costume, but
has the perfect demeanor.  The 'bone shaker' has figured into a couple of
episodes of Deadwood that has been discussed on the list recently.  From our
recent meeting in the Shires I can appreciate your pictures that much more.

A few miles south of here Laguna Beach is having some major earth slippage
and landslides. Quite a few homes have been destroyed.  Heavy rains have
soaked this area causing the hillsides to become unstable.  Now it is
teaming with news coverage.  When things quiet down in a few days I'll try
and take a few shots.  Laguna Beach is not only a lovely place to live when
there is no ongoing disaster, but a major tourist destination.
