I must confess I didn't read much of the SLR text. I just looked at the
rankings, wondered about the Pentax ratings, and went on.
As Chuck says, perhaps there wasn't enough viewfinder difference in
their judgment to make the cut for limited space. Personally, I'm not
that sensitive to the issue. I can go from OM-1 to 5D to 300D and not be
aware of a difference that distracts me from the subject.
Looking at the rankings more closely, I think Pentax got the shaft. Put
the K10D in the first group, where it clearly fits in price, especially
as it includes a lens, and it's in the top rank.
