Within Canada, BC is frequently referred to as "Lotus Land" and especially
the "Lower Mainland" at the mouth of the Fraser River, site of metro
Vancouver.
Likewise, Alberta is known as "God's Country", Toronto as "Hogtown" and
before anyone else chirps in, Calgary is "Cowtown". Few other places matter
